Bill Boethius When it comes to guitarists, - or anything for that matter! - I'm interested in *tone* and *colour*. Rasping Boy has magnificent tones and colours. He paints with them in sound. His imagination runs riot, with tones that are always strong, virile and epic, and yet thoughtful. Even as he rages with power he betrays a sensitivity - that's what makes his stuff so great Favorite track: Man Who Loved The World.

about

Rasped Silence is my last recording, fully improvised, recorded channel by channel in full length of final song. What’s interesting on it, is that i realize it’s first strong connection to psychedelic recording. First track is just guitar based, echoed guitar wide channels, rush middle guitar, second gets as a backspaced rushes from manual actions, paper manipulations, any kind of metal, wood small objects etc. with psychedelic guitars , third is just a microphone on my chest and manipulations of guitar effects sets getting noise from heart beating and breathing. Last recording is getting back to be more convenient to listening, there are minimalistic sections to warms you, intersected of crashes and getting back to minimalism of heavier minimalism guitar rifs and so ... i was always interested try to make a kind of territory to get the brain be free from mind construction, get a state be drunk even not be drunk, not be on drugs. I am always recording without drinking ... try get some inner space opening to catch/realize free flow of being aside thinking, getting loving, getting harming by ... as it comes in waves ... as it comes in live

about

Rasping Boy/Popol Slovakia

Self-taught (1967), DIY, homemade guitar based improvised harsh ambient with bit of psychedelic, bluesy, jazzy, industrial tunes and accidental parallel threads... adventure and concentrated listening, un-predictive structures. Self-help, dirty sound, with meditative aspects, overcome pain, fear, mood/mind shift, preferring reality over expectations.
